The Buzz-saw of DOOM!
This blog entry will be a little strange, but I have to get it off my chest. There’s something that scares me about the Nintendo DS, so much so that it keeps me up at night… What am I talking about? Well, the very annoying alarm noise the Nintendo DS has, of course!
When I set the alarm on my DS, I’m so afraid of hearing it in the morning that I literally wake up every few hours and CHECK how much time is left for me to wake up… and then when it comes close for the alarm to go off, I wake up and then I wait and stare at my DS until 10 minutes before it goes off I turn it off and get up. Does this make me a strange person? Well yes, but I’ve done stranger things before and anyone who owns a DS will understand why I’m like this…
“BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT! BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT! BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT! BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT-BRZZZZT!“… and then it gets louder and LOUDER and it goes on and on. I don’t know what kind of sick experiments people have run to determine the most annoying sound to use to wake people up in the morning, but the Nintendo DS has by far the most annoying alarm I’ve ever heard. I can stand the BEEP BEEP BEEP watches and other electronic alarms make and don’t really mind the oldskool ringing alarm clocks… though, to be honest, I haven’t heard one of those outside of a movie.
I don’t know why it stresses me out so much… but it does. I just thought I’d share that with everyone for some reason…

Anyway, used to use a radio alarm, but it never woke me up. I use my phone now, and I tend to wake up before the alarm goes off, though not out of fear of it ringing or anything, I have other things to fear. Anyway, the only thing is, when I'm off taking a shower, I remember that I had forgotten to turn it off. And so, it wakes my parents up, who sleep in the room above mine (my walls are paper-thin, I can hear my dad snore at night)
@Lynk: You use an alarm to wake you up?! XD
There is a reason my old clock was called The Sonic Boom...it's hard to get me out of bed and this thing was loud as fuck AND had a bed shaker. Kind of a disturbing way to start the day, but it definitely worked.
Music has turned out to be much better =D but I have to change the song I wake up to every couple of weeks, else I start sleeping through it instead of getting out of bed.
tl;dr version: lynk, stop using the DS alarm before you throw your DS against the wall!
