I just finished 2 and I already can't wait for this, even without actual gameplay footage and the fact it's still PSP. There is something that bothers me but we can talk about that later...

Funny, I was just gonna post this link when I got home. I know that I'll definitely like this game pretty much no matter what because it's another VC game, but how much I love it pretty much hinges on how well they manage to pull this story off. By placing the game during the events of the original they could end up writing themselves into a corner, or retconning a bunch of shit. The trailer already shows your new protagonist and Welkin shaking hands. I wonder if there is a version of this trailer with English subs. XD

This Is How Valkyria Chronicles 3 Begins

I'm really not thrilled about the VC series taking the more traditional cliché animu route... I mean, VC1 had it but it was enough that I could swallow it without wanting to strangle the game. The thing about VC2 and 3 that I'm most worried about is the way they both seem to up that cliché stuff.

In any case, I'll try focusing on the gameplay as best I can when I do buy them... but *whines* If they were both on PS3 I'd already have bought VC2, played and completed it and be able to buy VC3 as a day 1 purchase. Fuck.

I dunno I think it's a bit early to judge, but the art style definitely has strayed from it's original CANVAS water color style towards more animu style, at least as far as I can see with that cinematic. The thing that got me really excited about it though, is that it seems to really highly the relationship b/w the new Valkyria and the Female Darcsen in your new squad. I'm hoping that what it is foreshadowing is that the game is really gonna expand on the story behind the "Darcsen Calamity" and the history of the war b/w the 2 "races".
