When listening to the Japanese voices, sometimes the English subtitles don't actually reflect exactly what is being said because it's the direct script of the English voice work.
I notice this quite quickly. While I may not understand Japanese well, I understand another phrase and words to know what they're saying in Japanese is not be translated by the script for the reason you stated. It's bothersome, but not that big of a deal.

Yeah, having watched enough anime in Japanese I could recognise quite a few phrases that weren't quite right. There are a few moments where it's completely obvious though.

About the subtitles though, I do not think I blame them for doing it like that. It was probably much easier and I'm not sure how many people would actually notice.

The game looks great though. I have never really played a tactical rpg so not sure I could get into it, but I love the art style. Sounds like the pros outweigh the cons by a lot too as all the negatives you listed are much more minor. Nice review!

The game can become much harder for you in the long run if you don't finish levels with a high enough grade to grab enough experience to level up your squad.
Agreed. Not that I'm having a issue myself, but I do feel the need to rush to complete the mission for this one particular reason. Unlike Fire Emblem, that had a similar system where you earned more Bonus EXP for finishing missions faster, you don't gain experience for killing enemies, so there's no point in killing enemies unless you need to kill them as a requirement for the mission or you need to kill the enemies hold up in the base which you need to capture.

I'll admit that I'm too fond that a majority of the missions are "Capture the base". I wish there was more variety to main storyline missions than "Capture the base", which a majority of the missions are up to Chapter 15. Still, enjoy the mission nonetheless since mission do have variety within them even if the objective is the same.

You can also cheat in a way in terms of experience... I found myself replaying Skirmish 2 over and over and then Skirmish 6 or 7 I think, Upper Fouzen, to grab some really easy experience and pretty much level up all of my squad to lv20's early on.

I've also discovered that for the most part, most missions can really be completed in 1 turn which kind of takes the shine off of the level designs since all you really need to do is bypass all of the enemies with your scout to capture their base.

Yeah. That's why I wish there was different mission objectives.

Also, they could have fortified the bases much better than they did. You can't capture a bases if enemies occupy the base. A couple of missions had no enemies in the base or a couple you can kill without much problem.

That seems like quite a bad point, worse than all the other bad points i read about XD I guess you could just not do that though and play through some levels again taking out all the enemies instead for fun

It seems like a bad point, but when you get right down to it, you still have to figure out how to get to their base with all of your units still alive in the end.

You really don't realise you can do a lot of the stuff you can do until the second playthrough though.
