100 Most Anticipated Games of 2009 | GamesRadar

Overall a pretty good list to see what is coming out this year and what you'll want to watch for. Before I saw this the only games I definitely wanted for 360 this year were BioShock 2, Final Fantasy XIII, and Resident Evil 5, which are the top three games on that list. I wasn't really thinking of Mass Effect 2 when I came up with the games I wanted because it doesn't have an official 2009 date. But if ME2 does come out this year that is definitely a top one for me. There are also a few others in there that I'll watch this year and consider getting. What about the rest of you, which games are tops on your list for 2009?

Sequels XP

Hmmm, looking forward to? Right now I'd say the games I'm looking at are Uncharted 2, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and 358/2 Days, also Infamous sounds like it could be fun. Other games like Killzone 2 and White Knight Chronicles I'll probably wait and see how well they are received by the masses before I get them. FFXIII would be on my list, but I doubt it will be released next year. Then other games like RE5, I might get if other people here bought it, but most everybody here has a 360 so I probably wont get it as beyond playing the game with people I know I wouldn't really have an interest in it. I hate myself for it, but I'll probably end up getting Pokemon Platinum even though I already have Diamond and Pearl...

Oh and in general I don't really agree at all with their list I think they put Uncharted 2 in the 30's and Brutal Legend was 10... retards

I didn't know there was going to be an Afro Samurai game, but now that I know, that and White Knight Chronicles makes the PS3 look a lot more enticing.

For me, I'm looking forward to Dragon Quest IX and the two Kingdom Hearts releases. I've actually been asking my friend about once every week when the new kingdom hearts game was coming out ever since I beat the second one, and I must say, it is about time. And Perfect Prosecutor looks good too, even though I don't really like Edgeworth.

And the next No More Heroes is coming out. I haven't even played the first one. My friend keeps promising to lend it.

Yea there definitely were some misplaced entries, I agree about Uncharted though I am kind of interested in Brutal Legend as well.

Even less to look forward to this year now.

Other games I am looking forward to this year besides the 3 (now 2) that I mentioned in my first post: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Alpha Protocol, maybe Star Ocean, Dragon Quest IX, Pokemon Platinum, No More Heroes Desperate Struggle, maybe The Conduit and House of the Dead Overkill, Dragon Age, and Sims 3 So I guess there are a good number of titles this year that I can say I'm looking forward to, but still not a whole lot, a lot of them I could go without.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

I don't mind playing other games being released, but I'm mostly looking forward to release of this title above all else.

I remember which game is forgotten in that list, or at least for me, it was left out. Yakuza 3. Man those games were good. Still don't know if it'll be released in other parts of the world other than Japan.

Personally the games I want to get this year are Bioshock2, Mass Effect 2, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2, CoDMW2 and Halo Wars.

StarCraft II and Rage, Deux Ex 3 only if they don't tone it down for play it in a console like they did with the sequel.

Yeah, that somehow escaped my initial list but that is one I will definitely get.

New FFXIII Trailer - CGI and First Look at Gameplay

So far though, it still looks like a 2009 release in Japan, and worldwide it is still unannounced. However seeing as the demo is released in mid-April in Japan, and it would take at least 6 months to translate and on top of that, whatever additional time to make the Xbox360 build I'd venture to guess it is pretty much a sure thing it wont come out until 2010. I wish I could read Japanese so I could imports it

Yep I was just going to post about that new video. I read that Square Enix has said all talk of the US release date was just rumors and that they have not said anything about a date yet. However like you said, the Japanese version will come out this year, but they said development for the Xbox 360 version won't start till the Japanese PS3 version is done so I'd love to see it in 09 but 2010 seems more likely.
