Yea, so far I've only played through the Edy Detachment DLC and while the mission wasn't great, I did like the background info it gave on some of the characters, especially Marina and Jann, I'll definitely play it again though as I only C ranked it, and I here there is a different ending scene for every rank. I'll also probably go play the Selvaria DLC... right now...

I got a B on my first try with the Edy mission. I was kinda thrown off when the mission objectives changed in the middle, but I know if I redo the mission I'll get an A pretty easily.

Edy annoys me... don't like her at all, and I'm not a fan of Susie either... stupid pacifist, plus she'd ALWAYS be the first one to die. I don't like Homer... so all that really left was Jann's all round awesomeness... though she ends up being usless after you kill the first two tanks...and Marina who you only use to take out the other snipers. Oh and Lynn is aright since she worked out well as a base defender.

I replayed Edy's Detachment today and came up with a solid strategy that got me an A rank, with a ton of extra CP to waste on the 4th turn. I did have to reload a couple of times because stupid Susie went all pacifist on me... Yeah the bummer is that Jann becomes largely useless after all the tanks are gone. Lynn is an absolutely awesome base defender though...

Have Lynn (and Edy if she's still in the base), face South and make sure your rifle users, Susie and Homer face north. Since Susie and Homer wont jam people from the South, they'll get in range of the ShockT's and it's game over for them.

Also played through the Selvaria mission pack, (both branches) overall the mission pack is great fun, and it was refreshing to see the other side of Selvaria. The only thing that felt weird about it, was that as far as weaponry goes, it felt as though even though I am playing as this mighty Empire. My weaponry was still vastly inferior to the small Gallian nation, IIRC this is partly explain in the supplements of the story though.

Gave Vyse the Ruhm, getting ready to prepare myself for EX Skirmishes... also playing as Valkyrur Selvaria fuckin' rocks!

Oh yeah, also they patched the game to 1.20 before they released the DLC to add the Extras option to the menu, but I keep hearing that they lowered the health of certain enemies as well... /shrug

The way I do it is I move Jann first and take three shots at the tank to the north and take it out and move Jann up against the building so the sniper doesn't get him. Then I get Homer to take out that scout that's up north that was next to the tank and move him next to Jann. Then I choose Marina and take out the sniper way down south and move her up against the building too. After that I just get Susie and Lynn and move them to the sandbags away from the mortar blast. Finally, I take Edy and I have her leave the base and I get her to take out the enemy Trooper near the base and then move her so she's positioned herself near in an area where when the enemy phase occurs, she can take out this one enemy scout that tries to make a run for the base.

On the second turn, take out the second tank with Jann and then put him in an out of the way place, repair the sandbags with Homer and get him to take out a scout and then make him point north. I get Lynn into position and while I'm at it take pot shots at any imps that may be close enough but still too fat to shoot at... and then last, before Edy, I get Susie to launch a grenade into the patch of grass on the cliff above the base to take out that sniper and move her next to Lynn pointing south.

After that it's just a matter of moving Edy to her destination.
That's pretty much how you did it right?

Also... at the end you hear that Johann becomes "Oswald the Iron"... *coughs* He's the guy you kill in chapter 10a to get the ZM Kar 4(g)... lol

Actually not really... lol, here's what I did..
Turn 1 - Enemy mortar should be on south half of the base.

Take Jann, go behind the north tank and OHKO it, hug the cliff and get as far south as possible.
Use Homer to kill the scout to the north, end crouched facing north.
Take Lynn, south over the bags, and line up both the normal scout and the red scout behind him, and take both out with headshots using just 1 CP, return Lynn to the sandbags facing south.
Take Edy, get behind the south tank, unload a full clip into the weak spot.
Use Edy again, finish off the tank, and you should have enough AP to make it back to put Edy crouched behind the sandbags next to Lynn.
SAVE (because Susie is a wuss), take Susie, South and right towards the Heavy Tank, take out the Red ShockT with headshots, return Susie all the way to the North sandbags next to Marina facing north.
Take Marina to the sniper tower, eliminate the sniper to the south east on the main road.
You should have 1 CP left, you can either use Susie to launch a nade at the sniper up top, or just leave him alone and End Phase.

Enemy turn: Everything should be fine, if you left the sniper on the cliff, if he shoots at Lynn, she'll kill him, if he shoots at anybody else it doesn't really matter because he can't kill them when they're crouched behind cover. The scout that spawns to the north will get jammed by Susie and or Homer, he may shoot at Jann but he wont kill him. Anything that moves to the south and gets within range of Lynn and Edy, will die, if not by them, by their own mortar as long as Susie and Homer aren't facing south, because they will stop them with interception fire before they get in range of Lynn/Edy. That is why you want the rifle users facing north. Last thing to worry about is Marina in the tower getting shot by the heavy tank. Now that I think about it though, she doesn't need to be there until turn 2...

Turn 2 - Enemy mortar should be on the north, but it could stay south

Take Jann if the scout is still alive from the enemy turn kill him, then get as close to the Heavy tank as possible.
Take Edy towards were Jann is and make your way around the tank and around the house, watch out for the land mines.
Take Edy again, killing the ShockT on the other side of that house and make your way to the ladder house.
Take Jann, go around the house with the mines, get behind the tank, OHKO
Take Marina in her tower kill the ShockT on the roof of the ladder building Edy's at.
For the rest of the turn, re-adjust your base defenders, Susie and Homer face north, Lynn faces south.
If you have more CP you can try moving Edy a bit more, but it really doesn't matter.

The rest should be pretty easy.

I knew he was one of the aces, just didn't remember the specifics

You seem to have moved around your guys a lot more than I did XD I also didn't bother to kill the Trooper on the roof cause I'd just get Edy to run straight by him and he wouldn't have time to get even one shot off.

I kinda just readjusted all of my units within the base camp area for the first two turns and ha Edy travel all the way to the end of the map with the rest of the squad in defensive positions. Just need to take out the two tanks, the sniper off in the distance and the sniper up in the grass and then once Edy is near the end, get Marina to help pick off the two units at the end so Edy can get through.
