After a ridiculous wait it is finally here! Dattebayo subbed the first episode so you can check it out at their website (make sure to grab the HQ one, the original one is shit quality).

I don't really get it yet...It aired in the middle of a re-airing of the first season. Do the new episodes take place during the first season's timespan? I dunno how many episodes in the new episode aired during the re-broadcasting. That explanation wouldn't surprise me since apparently the re-broadcast was being shown in chronological order instead of the original broadcast order.

My impressions for the first episode: After the original "Fuck yeah! Haruhi!!" factor, it was alright. There was no OP, this had better change in future episodes. And the ED was not even close to Hare Hare Yukai. For the actual show, Haruhi wasn't in it a whole lot so my comment on that is "needs moar Haruhi". I am sure it will get better as it gets further in. Glad its finally starting though as the original is my favorite anime of all time so it's great to have something new.

Watched it earlier today. Really interested in how this is going to be aired since this is taking place in the middle of the first season.

Why does this show have to be so damn confusing?

Kyon traveling back in time was the funniest part for me for some reason.

He should've done something to stop Haruhi from drawing that sign on the school grounds just to see if it will mess up the future XD

Oh yeah, which reminds me... I saw the first season of Haruhi... Jeff made it sound like it was really unique and out there... but it wasn't.

I think it is in some way. If my memory serves me right there is only one that seems similar to Haruhi, her power that is. Opsss correction there are two based on the anime titles that i watched.

Okay, I just finished watching up to the 6th episode of season 2, and I have to say, I'm frigging p-oed. The last 5 episodes are basically the same, with some minor changes.

Well it's definitely unique in some ways. You'd expect it to be either high school drama OR sci-fi mystery but it combines both really well, not sure I've seen any anime like that. And Haruhi is just such a well written character.

As for season 2, I am about to watch episode 6, but I'm a little sick of what has gone on so far as well. I suppose it will go on till about episode 9 since these episodes are called "endless 8" (both 8 as in the 8th month and 8 episodes I am assuming). But hopefully they will start to change it up next episode, at least if they haven't with 6 yet.

Actually Haruhi doesn't have to do much of anything aside from the usual wacky anime antics... most of what you get from the series is from Kyon and his point of view. I found that his perception of things was the most enjoyable part of the series.

Yeah, but there wouldn't be a series without Haruhi. >_> She is he cause behind everything that happens.

She is... but when you take out any sort of supernatural occurance, Haruhi is just a spoilt brat.

But that is the whole focus of the show, there would be no show without supernatural occurrence. You're just making reasons for why it's supposedly not great.

Actually there are quite a lot of "slice of life" animes out there. I'm just saying that if you took away her supernatural abilities, Haruhi would just be an ordinary spoilt brat instead of a spoiltbrat with supernatural powers.

But without supernatural abilities, she wouldn't be spoiled. The reason she gets what she wants is because she is basically god.
