Japanese teaser site...

METROID Other M

Not the kind of music you associate with a Metroid game... I'm interested to see where they'll be taking Other M.. obviously it's going to be a lot more dramatic... but do I want Metroid to be dramatic?

Sakamoto: Other M shows 'human side' of Samus

Looks like some more information... or non-information... XD

I love how they make us believe it's new information but it's the same stuff we've already known since practically the beginning, just written differentely.

The screens make me go "hmm" though... I mean, hooray for all the cinematic stuff, but the gameplay screens worry me... also, the one real piece of new info they have in there about the controls worry me too. I kind of imagined the game to use the nunchuk and wiimote where you could move independently with the Nunchuk's analog stick, and aim using the Wiimote pointer which would allow you to run in one direction in shoot in another direction or something like that... but they seem to be simplifying the controls... which is even worse considering how flashy the moves seemed in the original trailer. I hope they're not guided moves, cause that'd suck in a Metroid game.

Edit: Destructoid - Metroid: Other M to bring you closer to Samus than ever

Hmmm @ the control details... it sounds like a hell of a lot of hand holding and guiding and pulling the gameplay down to something extremely linear.... x.x this is sounding really bad.

Interestingly, killing enemies will no longer provide you with health or missiles. Instead, tilting the Wii Remote vertically and holding "A" can replenish your supply at any time. The same can be done for health as well; if it dips into the red, tilting the remote and holding "A" will replenish one energy tank. Also, weapon and suit "upgrades" won't be found through exploration. Instead, in the sections I played, the Commanding Officer of the Galactic Federation (whom you'll be working alongside) "authorized the use of" morph ball bombs.

Leaked footage, the guy would've gotten kicked out if he was discovered since this was only shown behind closed doors and people had to sign agreements to get in.

Unfortunately the nekkid Samus you're looking at is a bit too young for you at the moment

That's Mother Brain, you fool. And what you saw is hands down the most epic moment in Super Metroid being retold.

This is the Metroid: Other M trailer we wanted to see -- Joystiq This is a really good trailer... though knowing what I know about the controls, the great action seems less exciting when you consider all of that auto-aiming that's being done.

Also, I notice they're reusing some of the Metroid Prime sounds which is nice.

Having only heard about this once since its first announcement I'm as not up on things related Metroid as I'd like. Shamefully still don't have a nintendo wii. I'm glad you're so dependable for this news, Lynk.

Watching all the clips...it had me frothing at the mouth in anticipation as expected.

Looking back at the old SNES days I recall noting similarities between Super Metroid and Megaman X 1-3. Seeing these preview clips now I can still find similarities; that said it gives a envious yet affirming feeling to see what one series I loved could have and should have been/become.

So, praises all the more for Metroid. Wish I could contribute more to the thread.

Preview: Metroid: Other M - Official Nintendo Magazine

I still don't know what to think... there's still talk of "auto" stuff happening which is my biggest problem at the moment... but we'll all get a better view of it at E3, so we'll have to wait till then to get a better understanding of what Other M is like in terms of gameplay...
