To be honest I think the first movie was more of a set up/introduction to the audiance.

as for the movie itself... freaking great.

btw did anyone else notice the beast wars reference?

If that's your main reason for not watching it, I suggest you get a grip.

It's a 2 hours commercial for cars and toys based off a TV show that was a 4 season commercial for the toys it was based off of. Really you're taking it waaaaaay too seriously.

I enjoyed it, it was great all the way through, though the first two deceptions that were killed were kinds a waste of decepticons, they really didn't put up much of a fight. It was a great movie for anyone who wants to see giant robots beat up other giant robots, everything you can name explode, and a scantly clad Megan Fox.
About a maid I'll sing a song,
who didn't have her family long.
Not only did she do them wrong,
she did every one of them in.
So, have you heard?

Okay just got back from seeing it...

All I can say is FUCK YEAH! It was like watching a whole bunch of Transformers episodes in a marathon... and I loved all of the references to all the different Transformers series. XD I grinned at every reference I spotted... which was A LOT. Everything from the slow-motion shot of Optimus doing that arced jump and shooting Megatron and Starscream with his cannon while in the air (just like he did in the Transformers movie), to the F-14 in the Smithsonian just before we first see Jetfire in his Blackbird form... and even the combination of Jetfire's parts with Optimus. Of course there were a fuck tonne more to go along with that lol.

I have heard a lot of criticism about the movie... but when I was watching I realised that this is exactly how it is when you watched G1 back in the day... it's stupid, but fun. The movie got some good laughs in the theatre, which was packed to the brim... I'm glad I got the center-center seat in the cinema lol.

Oh yeah, I love how absolutely BRUTAL Optimus is in it. I think they realised after making the first one that they can get away with a lot because it's robots being destroyed rather than people being killed. The way he shoots Demolished in the head was nothing compared to what came later... I mean, he ripped Grindor's head in half with his hands. I also loved how he grabbed The Fallen's face and said "Give me your face" and then made The Fallen watch as Prime stabbed him through the spark.

Every second Jetfire was on screen was fucking awesome XD He may have been a Valkyrie rip-off in his original form, but they really pulled off something really special with him in the movie. As for "hurr" and "derp"... XD they were funny/stupid but they did get too much screen time IMO... especially when they could've made more use out of some of the others such as Arcee and Ironhide.

Also, Soundwave was awesome even without the vocoder happening, but it's pretty obvious that he's being set up for the next movie... which they try to tell us won't be happening, but of couse it will lol. I mean in true G1 style, Megatron and Starcream retreat just in time lol.

Damn, there's so much more I wanna say... can't wait for the Bluray to come out XD

Well it is what it is, a really good action movie that is fun to watch and is based around a series I love.

Oh, oh, oh... and I also loved how awesome Ravage was in it... I hope to see Laserbeak in the next one. Also, the Egypt battle was so epic. It was like the Autobot city battle at the beginning of the 1986 movie 'cept they showed it from beginning to end with no cuts. Also loved how they had Insecticons in the movie as well.

Oh yeah and The Fallen = Kurn is made of so much win XD lol... oh, oh and fuck yeah, Nemesis.

I think Arcee should have had more screen time. From what I understand she was removed from the first live action movie due to "negative" fan reaction, and replaced by ironhide (probably a good move since explaining female autobots would have taken them on a bit of an unnecessary tangent). After not really researching any of the second movie I was ecstatic when I heard and saw Lennox shout for the "Arcee Twins" and I can really say that character developement for her is something I'd like to see in the next movie.

Oh yeah, and Optimus is indeed the baddest of asses. Such an awesome movie.

Actually Lennox yelled out "Arcee! Twins!" referring to Arcee (as her singular consciousness but three separate forms) and the twins, Skids and Mudflap.

I think it's probably better that they had Ironhide in the first movie instead of Arcee since he's one of the more recognisable original line-up Transformers from G1. Arcee on the other hand came in during the 1986 movie... but yeah, I hope she gets more screen time in the third movie.

I also want to see more of Soundwave in the next one... he really needs to get down from his orbital position and get in a real fight...

Soundwave + vocoder = awesome. Soundwave - vocoder = ...?

I still am really impressed at the amount of transformers actually thrown into the movie. Here's to a third movie!

I liked the movie, but it would have been nice without the stupid sex jokes. They made the movie feel awkward.

Ok, finally got my hands on a copy of the first film for a rewatch (damn waiting lists).

Could follow it better and found it more enjoyable, but still not enough to convince me to go see the sequel in the cinema (if it was still on that is)

So, as ya'll know, I got Revenge of the Fallen on Bluray the other day and I have to say that it's a much better experience on Bluray then it was in the cinema. I mean, it's BIG when you see it at the movies, but the problem with Australian cinema's is that we don't have digital cinemas down here so we're using the ye olden film reels, you know, that 20th century stuff. Anyway, the action in Transformers is definitely meant to be watched in a digital format because viewing it at the cinema made the action much to blurry to make out the really fast action moments. With the Bluray and my home entertainment setup, everything is perfectly sharp.

Also, the movie is still just as fun XD Just so love it, it's just like the original series, you don't have to think too much, you laugh at the rediculous moments and you love the actions.

So cannot wait for the third movie. So want the Dinobots in it or at least Grimlock and also Unicron would be pretty awesome too if they can pull it off XD

Also, in the extras for the movie there were two moments that were pure gold... firstly, the fact that Devastator was the most complex 3D generated character ever made that it blew up the computers at ILM when they tried to render him is so fucking awesome XD

Secondly, and the moment that made my laugh my fucking ass off is a moment with Megan Fox describing how from this kind of movie she understands why boys like action and machines and explosions and stuff... it was something like...

"I don't know what it feels like to be a man and be full of testosterone, but when those jets fly over you feel really masculine... like you just wanna punch someone."
