It wasn't the greatest show ever. Unfortunately, it aired right as the writers strike was heating up, and you could tell the show was affected. It has some fun stuff though, and I actually liked it. The cast was really good, too, but suffered from Lucas Syndrome. Which, is my personal name for shows/movies that have good actors, but for some reason, if that was the only thing you saw them in, you wouldn't think they were very good actors. I'm sure you see where the name comes from. :P
David Blue was Mick's (the main character) go-to-guy for tech stuff. Imagine Eli as a Vampire living in a basement and playing Guitar Hero... only actually allowed to be funny.
Speaking of commentaries, I love to listen to them myself. My favourite Stargate commentaries are the ones with Peter Deluise and Gary Jones. Peter Deluise is hilarious, he pretty much just goofs off the whole time. Gary Jones was Walter Harriman, who was in a lot of episodes, but never had many lines. It was funny at first, because he was pretty much like "Why did you want me on commentary? I only say one thing in the whole show."
So yea, if you like commentaries, I definitely recommend those.
