I finally got a chance to play through the game, and when I got to the scene in question it didn't really phase me. Call me a heartless bastard if you wish, but I opened fire on the masses and tried to mow down more civvies than my terrorist cohorts. I was more pissed about the fact that you're relegated to walking the entire time, I couldn't sprint to chase after the few that got away.

I usually do the "right" thing on the first playthrough of games. Then on the next playthrough I just do whatever... including killing all innocents and shooting my own guys or whatever. You know, just to see what happens.

Another thing to consider is that for some reason, I don't have a problem with beating people up and shooting a whole bunch of people and cops in Grand Theft Auto, yet this had a different feeling. I think what separates these two games is the fact that GTA is satire about the worst of society and Call of Duty is a reminder of what we see as being real life... especially nowadays when we've got this whole "fear the terrorists" mentality... which personally I feel is stupid considering that's what they want from us and what the name "terrorist" implies lol.

'All decent people should denounce' Modern Warfare 2, Maine Christian group says

These kinds of stories are still popping up... I love how these groups are like "we must denounce this and that" yada, yada, yada... well yeah, that's kind of the point. You're meant to not like what's happening in that scene....

I wonder how long people will keep up with this. I'm guessing years from now people will still refer back to "No Russian" when talking about why they think video games should be stopped or whatever...

I had a 'No Russian" dream, what does high score mean?
