Guildford, UK – December 7, 2009 – Visceral Games, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) studio announced today that the award-winning Dead Space™ franchise will continue to frighten gamers with its stunning sequel, Dead Space 2. Isaac Clarke returns for another heart-pounding adventure, taking the fight to the Necromorphs in this thrilling action-horror experience. New tools to gruesomely slice and dismember the Necromorphs complement Isaac's signature plasma cutter, empowering him as he meets new characters, explores epic zero-G environments, and fights against a relentless Necromorph onslaught. Survival isn't the only thing on Isaac's mind in Dead Space 2 – this time, he calls the shots.

“Like so many gamers worldwide, we love the Dead Space franchise and are very excited to announce a new game in the series,” said Nick Earl, Senior VP and Group General Manager at EA. “Visceral Games is quickly becoming known for delivering high-quality, action-packed games. Dead Space 2 is on target to deliver a jaw-dropping experience gamers won’t soon forget.”

“We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey,” added Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of Dead Space 2. “The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.”

Originally launched in 2008, Dead Space quickly became one of EA’s top rated wholly-owned intellectual properties. With close to 100 industry awards and an average critic score of 89*, Dead Space became a hit with horror and videogame fans worldwide. In 2009, EA launched Dead Space Extraction for the Wii™, a prequel to the original Dead Space that expanded the fiction and brought the franchise to a new audience.

Dead Space 2 is being developed for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and on PC. This product has not yet rated by PEGI. Just played Dead Space 2 demo

[6:26:58 AM] Lynk: XD heeeeee fuck yeah
[6:27:23 AM] Jeff: that good huh
[6:27:40 AM] Lynk: it like started off in some kind of freezer where they used to keep corpses for experiments
[6:28:15 AM] Lynk: and there's like 4 chambers of these that are identical but each chamber has something different to make you think "shit, am i gonna get ambushed in here?"
[6:28:31 AM] Lynk: in one of the chambers isaac had a fucking hallucination and it fucking tripped me out
[6:29:09 AM] Lynk: all of a sudden there were corpses in the statis tanks and everything went red and they were all screaming and writhing with blood spraying everwhere
[6:29:33 AM] Lynk: then finally the necromorphs come and it's standard until you get to the church
[6:30:01 AM] Lynk: those little kid necromorphs are pretty easy to kill even with the plasma rifle, but there are a fuck tonne of em and they come at you from every direction
[6:30:23 AM] Lynk: the zero-g bit was pretty cool, it controlled really well
[6:30:35 AM] Lynk: the hacking mini game was a little tough, took me a few goes but whatever
[6:30:44 AM] Jeff: ah well i'll try it eventually
[6:30:45 AM] Lynk: oh yeah, there was a bit in an elevator that was funny lol
[6:31:13 AM] Lynk: XD i open the elevator door with my plasma rifle at the ready
[6:31:17 AM] Lynk: cause you just never know
[6:31:19 AM] Lynk: it's clear
[6:31:26 AM] Lynk: i get it and i start it and look around
[6:31:50 AM] Lynk: and as the elevator is going up, i look up at the ceiling and think "i really shouldn't be in here and that plating doesn't look too sturdy"
[6:32:33 AM] Lynk: XD then just before the elevator reaches the top a fucking necromorph bursts through the ceiling and i'm this elevator that has just gone dark, spraying plasma rifle shots ahead of me, hoping i can kill the damn thing before i have to reload lol
[6:33:55 AM] Lynk: the demo has a really nice long intro movie sequence at the start too that kind of goes through the events of dead space and shows a bit of extraction as well
[6:34:08 AM] Lynk: definitely spoilerific though
