It's been a pretty fucked up year for me to be honest, lost some friends, failed at school applications, got fired from my first job etc...

I could probably write a short story chronicling the events of the past year, but I'm not gonna It all sums up real easy; too many drugs.

Yeah, can't say much of anything great happened for me, but on the flip side, nothing horrid happened either, it was just another 365 days.

Could of been better, had a string of deaths to handle and and various huge family rift, really glad to see the back of 2009, at least most of the games for 2009 made it that more bearable

Man... everyone seems to have had either a neutral or downer year... what about for vidya? XD I'm sure something good came out of that part of things at least.

2009 was okay, overall a neutral year.

I made some new friends and had some fun times but that was offset by my brother moving away. We were getting along really well and we actually did a lot of stuff together.

Other than that, I'm in exactly the same spot I was the year before... not that I did much to change anything.

I thought 2009 could have been better--my knee crapped out on me, I finally had weight loss surgery, and I found out one of my good high school and church friends has, at age 37, pancreatic cancer. However, offsetting that was a phenomenal vacation to Disney World with my family, seeing my first official tornado, and sharing gaming fun with many of you. I learned how to podcast, and I took a creative writing class and started writing a new novel.

It's 2010 that's sucking rocks in a giant asteroid field. In January, my younger sister (only 40, has 3 kids) was diagnosed with thymus cancer--it's all over the lining of her lungs and wrapped around her heart and she has 2 other big tumors. Thankfully, the chemo has shrunk it substantially. February, my knee got bad enough I finally had to see an orthopedic surgeon for it, as I had developed some leg problems related to it. March, my dog got hit and killed by a speeding driver who came within 5 feet of hitting my son, too. The asshole driver never stopped. April, I had a tooth abscess and had to have a root canal, and had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic just to make things more fun. This month, I'm having synvisc injections in my knee to see if that keeps me from having to have a knee replacement. I have to have one more of those in a week. FML.

The good thing so far--my lap band is finally at the point it needs to be to have good restriction, and I'm now losing weight more quickly as intended. This is very cool.
From MST3K's spoof of "Hercules Unchained"--heard as Roman medic soldiers carry off an unconscious Greek Hercules on a 1950's Army green canvas stretcher: "Hi, we're IX-I-I. Did somebody dial IX-I-I?"
