Japan: Slaughtering Whales and Dolphins

It's pretty well known that Japan engages in Whaling... but I've only learned right this very moment that they also slaughter Dolphins as well. They are able to continue their whaling practices under the banner of research (for what?!) and end up slaughtering thousands of whales each year,.. but they end up slaughtering tens of thousands of dolphins each year as well and a lot of people don't even know about it, not even the general public in Japan either. Apparently, the slaughtering of dolphins actually has Yakuza ties...

In an effort to get the word out, a movie was made that uses some pretty interesting methods to film the secret slaughtering of these dolphins has been made called "The Cove"

apalling these things just make me sick and the "its our culture" is not a excuse for the slaughter they cause, i am no animal rights activitest or whatever but i mean to slaughter 1000's of dolphins not mention whales is just awful i dont care what their excuse is the world should come down hard on them, animals arent around to be slaughtered at the whims of the japanese or anyone for that fact it simply disgusts me.
