Ultra Twilight Lynk + Super Master Blaster
This weekend I've been working on a redesign of Twilight Lynk. I've thought about the improvements that need to be made to the site and I've come up with this...

Now, as I was designing that, I tried to figure out a way of making this site really shine and be special in some way... and I think I've come up with something that may just do that... the problem is that it's going to take someone with the skills that I don't have to do it.

See the header area that's just under the menu at the very top? It has images from various video games, sure, and it's cool... but that area will have something really cool in it. A flash video game called "SUPER MASTER BLASTER"... It's going to be a side scrolling SHMUP... now as I said, I'm gonna need someone to help me make this, someone who is an expert with programming flash based games... so we'll probably have to give away a nice prize to whoever it is that is able to help and make this become a reality. Tell me what you think of the design and the idea for this game. Are you able to help me? Also, what prize should I be giving away to attract someone to help me with this? I REALLY want to make this happen

Oh, a new development...

It looks like I've teamed up with Chim on this. We'll be creating this using some DHTML instead of flash. Chim will be doing the javascript and I'll be doing the html/css and art.

Looks like another change of plan... it's back to flash as we've discovered that the limitations of dhtml are too many to do this successfully... I'm gonna do as much as I can by myself in flash... it's been awhile since I've worked with flash and actionscript, but I still remember enough to get the base of the game down... the more advanced stuff such as enemy AI, etc will have to be done by someone with a lot more experience though...

Anyone here who is REALLY good with actionscript?

It's nowhere near finished, there's still a billion and one things left to do with it... but I've done enough to show so here ya'll go. Don't click anything cause I'm pretty sure none of it will lead you anywhere good. Also, check out the rollovers and menus and stuff

Also, if you have lots of different types of browsers, test the page out on them and let me know if you see anything I should work on... now matter how small a difference it is! I have made pixel perfect sites before that have absolutely ZERO different corss browser before, so I don't want anything less with this one.

Just an update on the situation of Ultra Twilight Lynk... firstly, it's being renamed to Mega Twilight Lynk...

But more importantly, the design has undergone a bit of a change... Mega Twilight Lynk test ...as you can see, it's a lot narrower, the width is closer to the current site design, but it shares elements from the Ultra Twilight Lynk design I showed everyone before... the reason for this narrow design is because there are absolutely NO adverts on the new design. I'm getting rid of ads, they just take up space and they don't do anything useful.

Now, if I had things my way, this site design would we implemented within the week, but as I've been developing the code and testing the site, I've discovered that I've forgotten how STUPID Internet Explorer can be and it seems there are a lot of bugs that need to be ironed out... including a very HUGE one to do with the drop-down menus x.x

...otherwise, apart from that, looks bloody awesome in Firefox, Opera and Chrome... you know, the browsers that actually matter.


EDIT: Also, some of the code on that page to do with the rss, twitter, addme buttons are still a work in progress since I stopped work on the code to try to iron out all the IE bugs first...

Dunno if anyone cares about this, but if everything does go according to plan, I'll have the new site design up within this month (hopefully)...

In the meantime, I've updated the code for the quotes and darkened the post content text to be the same as the redesign... it follows the styling of the new design, but it also allows for images to be quoted without misaligning the site and all that jazz.

Anyway, if you have any comments about it, let me know.

Okay, I've begun the transition from the current design to the Mega Twilight Lynk redesign... I'm going to try to make the transition as painless as possible.

@ Herm: Trust me, you weren't the only person I was bugging about the site redesign I asked a fuck tonne of people what they thought to get it to this point XD


I'm sure you've already seen by now... I've completed the conversion of the blog side of the site... and it's looking pretty fucking good.
