Many of us have one of the three current generation consoles and some of us are PC gamers, but just how many of us are portable gamers? The market for portable gaming has increased thanks to the collective efforts of the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, so I'm sure there's plenty of us who do own at least one of these systems...

Yesh I has a DS Lite and a PSP seeing as how I'm more of an RPG gamer nowadays the portables offer a much wider range and larger overall selection to support my RPG needs.

I own and have games for Game Boy (Broken), Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance (Broken) and DS Lite. The perfect thing for long trips, hot days and visits to relatives.

I play on portable systems (DS Lite, PSP-1000 and iPhone) but don't really play anywhere other than at home. I'll play some stuff on my phone here and there, but I don't have enough idle time to get into anything serious or time consuming thanks to a very short commute to/from work and a short lunch break.

They're great when visiting relatives though (but so is a laptop with some emulators and a 360 controller ) and also during storms or days where there are power outages and surges and I wouldn't dare turn on a console.

The lack of success with the PSP Go makes me wonder if PSP2 will be disc based or flash drive based...

That's actually a good question now, like if Sony never did the PSPgo I would say that the PSP2 would be flash/DL based 100%. Now though after the lackluster performance of the Go, you gotta wonder what they're thinking, I think the go proves that the market is not ready/large enough for a pure digital download system yet, there are plenty of people that don't have wireless/broadband.

should I give in to temptation?

I say wait to see what happens at E3, this is probably the worst time of the year to buy any new gaming platform, simply because E3 can change things, whether its new system announcements or price drop announcements or new game announcements.
