...for 89AUD, who wouldn't? (and also got a preowned memory card)

Also, I'd just like to say that it's been a long time since I played a PS2 and I forgot how much I don't like it x.x I mean, it's okay... but it just feels weird.

The aim was to get MGS2 Substance and MGS3 Subsistence, but the best I can do at the moment is the original version of Snake Eater. The other versions of MGS2 and 3 are pretty much impossible to find...I'll have to ebay them if I can't find them by luck in some store that sells second hand...

In the end I spent 89+22.41+31.45=142.86AUD for the PS2, the memory card and mgs3.

Oh yeah, they've released that on Wii too. How is it?

Yes, you should Actually, I've only playing MGS3 all the way through once since I've never actually owned a PS2 until now. So now I get to go through it a second time, woot.

I'll chaulk that up to shock over finally owning a real game system as opposed to a box that you hook up and play once every 8 months when something is finally released that's worth your while. Yes...I'm jaded.
Okay. You people sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn... call the president.

I have 32 GCN games and 22 Wii games. I'd have double the amount on both if I had more money... of course I've played all of the games worth playing on the PS2 as well, I've just never had the money to own it. Also, while not as many games were released on the GCN, that doesn't mean that there wasn't any good games for it. I also play them regularly... like almost every day.

That said, I've probably played more PS2 games than you have so I've also probably played more Xbox games than you have, but just cause I don't own one doesn't mean I'm completely blind to it and its games. I play games on all the systems, but in terms of what I want to buy, I prefer to choose Nintendo because I don't have unlimited money.

The reason I don't like the PS2 is mostly to do with the controller. The Analog stick isn't as sensitive as the GCN controller's so it has some dullness issues... at the same time, worn out PS2 analog sticks misalign easily... not to mention the fact that I HATE the positioning of the right analog stick and the general shape of the controller and the way that the analog buttons don't register as a button press fast enough when you press them... I could go on but meh.

Anyway...

Got it for FREE, woot...the one I got didn't have a SIXAXIS inside the box... in fact it had no controller inside the box and even said so in the cover... but Sony did send along a DualShock 3 with the PS3, woot.

You got a PS3 for free, Lynk?

Also, you decide to import?

Yeah, you know that HDTV I got not long ago? Sony was holding this thing it does every now and then to get rid of PS3's down here. All you need to do is buy a HDTV and sign up for one and they send it to you for free. It's perfect seeing as a HDTV is pretty much useless without a PS3 and, to a lesser extent, a 360.

And no, I didn't import, there's no need to import a PS3 since all the games are region free... which means that I'll be free to import a copy of Grand Theft Auto 4 since the Australian version cuts out the content relating to the prostitutes and all that kinda jazz... and Fallout 3... and anything else I need to import.

Also, I added you to my friends list...

@ Chim: I dunno, obviously the PS3 exclusives are the ones which are at the top of the list... but a lot of the non-exclusive ones have me asking "Will I be better off owning this game for the 360 instead?".... even though I don't have a 360 yet... but I will get one eventually *nods*

That sounds like a good deal.

I thought you import since a SIXAXIS was missing. Could happen with a PS3 you buy from a store, but just assume you imported a PS3. Also, knowing how expensive every thing is down there. I thought it was cheaper to import the system, if you bought the system separately.

I was meaning to ask you if you want to have a match in Brawl. Just explaining why I added you to my buddy list. Just haven't got around to asking. I've been playing other games. Likely be devoting all my attention to Disgaea 3 when it's released next week.

Well, since I got this directly from Sony, I think it's a special promotional set. I know for a fact that every PS3 sold at a retail level does have a controller, they used to be SIXAXIS but now they're packed with DualShock 3's. This one on the other hand had neither and even said so on the box, but the mail package I got included a seperately packed DualShock 3 with the PS3 so it was all good. Either way, aside from the whole controller thing, it's the same PS3 everyone else gets down here.

It probably is cheaper to import the system, I haven't checked... but doing so would mean that you would be locked out of your own region for DVDs and Bluray movies which would suck.

As for Brawl, yeah that'd be good... but I'm afraid of it lagging. I've had a few online matches with people, some were good, some were bad. This match I had with Chim awhile back was extremely lagged because we were playing in the peak traffic time. It was REALLY bad x.x gah... Bleah @ Nintendo and their crappy online.

XD But when I mentioned the friends list before... I was talking about the PS3 one

It's just like the previous installments with upgrades. Problem is a couple of reviewers are making a big deal out of the graphics. The game was never advertising it was going to receive a major upgrade in graphics and would use sprites once again, but reviewers tend to have their heads up their asses, which is why I rarely read what reviewers have to say since a review is merely one person view of one particular game. In short, whether or not that game appeal to them and was success or disappointment to them.

As for me, I love Disgaea series and the style of gameplay and plot that's the series became known for. I wasn't expecting what certain reviewers were expecting. I like how the game stayed true to it's roots.

Yeah, actually when I saw it, the first thing I thought was that it'd make more sense to release this series on the PS2 since it would be cheaper, you could attract a larger userbase and the PS2 is selling just as much as the PS3 in Japan...
