I happen to be one of the many who listens to a tonne of videogame music. My mp3 folder is filled with it in fact and I'd like to find out what people around here have been listening to lately.

Right now I've gone back to listening to the No More Heroes OST. Goddamn I love Season of the Samurai and NO MORE NO MORE HEROES... and The virgin child makes her wish without feeling anything is so cool XD

Listening to NO MORE NO MORE HEROES right now... REALLY loud.

I listen to a lot of Frank Klepacki (Command & Conquer-series music) and the occasional Metal Gear Solid soundtrack.

YouTube - Command & Conquer OST, T01: Act On Instinct <3

I don't actually have any video game music in my library, but its not because I don't like it (obviously), I just never thought about it. I will have to see what I can do about changing that.

Actually, I've been rocking the No More Heroes OST myself, as well.

Especially the delicious Pleather For Breakfast, the BG music from the Bad Girl fight, and its immediate follow-up both in-game and on the OST, Dynamite Rider.

Truly an engaging soundtrack, stands up damn well on its own and out of context.

I may have to craft my new ringtone out of the sound effects on the OST, haha XD

And you're right Lynk, The Virgin Child... is an *excellent* piece, I was stunned to learn that it was an original composition for the game when I watched the credits roll the first time.

OK well this thread has got me interested, so I am currently listening to the OST of Knights of the Old Republic. This game really does have good music, I mean yeah its traditional Star Wars, but there are also some different tracks that fit really well.

@ spinkle: I've also been listening to this: No More Heroes Sound Tracks: Dark Side - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also, I listen to songs from the Metroid Prime trilogy quite often. God damn there are a lot of great tracks from those games.

*Absolutely*. I need to find OSTs for those as well. The best part of the Metroid Prime OST for was how much of the familiar, original series music was retained and updated, while remaining musically interesting in its own right.

On another note, I assume everybody knows about OverClocked ReMix - Video Game Music Community by now, right?

I highly recommend any mix of the Zelda Underworld Theme you can find =D

The only official CD release from the Prime trilogy was Metroid Prime which also included the soundtrack to Metroid Fusion... but you're better off finding rips off the net cause they're much longer and a lot easier to find since the Prime+Fusion OST was a VERY limited print.

The Prime trilogy does use some of the older series tracks in remixed form, but most of it is brand new and VERY cool. But the sad thing is that the number of awesome songs diminishes as you go. There are a tonne of great tracks from Prime, quite a lot from Echoes but fewer really good tracks as you get to Corruption.

I've been rocking the Portal end theme (Still Alive) for the last couple of days...finally played the game itself for the first time yesterday. Kinda glad I waited to play it...I needed something simple and fun to restore my faith in video games after a two-week break from playing anything at all.

I've been listeing to this: Square Enix Music Online :: The Outer Rim :: Album Information

No More Heroes fans take note of the first track... It features the full version of a remix track they did for the Darkside album... you'll be surprised to learn that Sylvia divorced Henry and married Travis, they become immortal somehow and moved to outer space.

I'm not geeky enough to listen to video game music at the moment, although I used to listen to music from Deus Ex and Unreal Tournament 2004 before... >.>

I listen to a lot of soundtracks for Arcade Shmups.

Titles like Raystorm, Darius Gaiden, Einhander, and even Radiant Silvergun are on that list.

Also, Mega Man 3 and Mega Man 4 some to have some really kickin' tunes!

Namco does a good job with their games too, I like listening to music from Ridge Racer and Tekken as well.

Finally, I think Streets of Rage 2 has the coolest music in a video game ever.

It's got a great story, environment and characters and is a great game in itself. Has some prollems here and there, but a game worth playing.

Especially if you like vampire boobies. And sex.

And Bloody disgusting stuff.
